The mts were gorgeous as we headed south. Then things got drier and became "high" desert.
Driving to LA got hotter and hotter. Nothing is out here except power lines and scrub and drab mts. The road goes on forever!! We did see a power station of solar panels, like in the movie "Sahara". I had to be at least 1 mile square. When we started down into the LA area, we suddenly had lots of traffic and race cars. Curt did an amazing job of going from relaxed driving to super intense with drivers who really didn't care that we were there. Hate LA traffic!
But we love our friends the Sorensens. Mary and I have been friends since college and our families for decades. We had a great visit with them for 3 days. They know really tasty restaurants and renewing our friendsip was delightful. They set up a great room at the Red Roof Inn for us, although we didn't spend much time there. They kept us so busy we didn't even have time to blog. Then we headed "up" to Las Vegas...
